Lumon glazing solutions for both new construction and renovated buildings

Lumon products are suitable not only for apartment buildings, but also town houses, row houses and cottages, for both new and refurbished buildings. Lumon balcony glazings, railings and roofs, together with blinds, form a modern and impressive balcony facade, demonstrating pioneering European architecture.

Aluminium and glass are durable but light materials which can be used to create graceful, stylish and unimpending complexes. This allows for impressive and modern balcony facades, which conform to the construction demands of the future. As both glass and aluminium can be reused, our material choices support the circular economy.

For new construction – Lumon fits and enhances

Lumon Glazing is suitable for new construction projects but can also be installed later without any problems. The timeless design can be discreetly integrated into the existing architecture and enhances the property of the building.

For renovation – lower renovation costs

Often, the renovation is about technical improvements to the existing facade, such as better insulation, energy saving and better protection against wear. Choosing durable and safe building materials is therefore also an important part when designing a glass facade. Lumon Glazing allows many possibilities for designers and it also protects balcony and facade structures from damage and decay over a long period of time, reducing the need for maintenance by 50%.

Strong co-operation from design support to smooth site operations

At Lumon, we master the entire supply chain, from product development to design, sales and installation, and our over one million happy customers are proof of that. There is no need to worry about responsibility issues when working with Lumon, since we answer for the whole process ourselves. The production and structure design of aluminium railing elements is always included in Lumon deliveries, and each site is handled as its own project, where site-specific features such as different methods of installation and rainwater or smoke processing solutions are taken into account. Site-specific structural calculations complying with official regulations can be done, and extra wind loads caused to railing structures by the glazing are always considered in dimensioning.

Lumon system is a secure and safe complete solution

Preparing railing profiles takes place in Lumon’s modern production facilities in Finland, Spain and Canada. The products are assembled on-site from ready-made components. Preliminally prepared profiles are parcelled in balcony or terrace-specific packages and delivered directly to their destination. The Lumon system is a secure and safe complete solution, where local circumstances and official regulations are taken into consideration.

We have enjoyed working with Lumon and feel that there has always been a good relationship. From the beginning, Lumon has had a good plan and it has been easy to talk to them. Lumon has understood our requirements for simple things such as documentation, security, self-checks and also our requirements for the planning.

Lumon’s recent customer study reveals a notable trend: nearly 25-29% of respondents are using their outdoor spaces more than expected with the addition of glazing. While the concept of balcony glazing has become familiar in especially Nordic countries, the survey shows that the benefit of balcony glazing is often not fully realized until it becomes a natural part of everyday life. The survey, conducted across five countries -Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, and Canada- highlights dining and entertaining as one of the top ways of using the outdoor space. However, the possible uses of the space extend far beyond.
