Tour Signal, Paris

Lumon equipped the tallest residential building in the athletes’ village of Saint-Denis with balcony glazing. 90 balconies and 582 glazing panels have been installed on the striking building.

The residence blends harmoniously into the eco-district of Universeine. It is a model for low-carbon and bioclimatic construction, where environmental and energy design are at the heart of the architectural project. The architect of the project is the renowned Clément Vergély, who has already designed prestigious projects such as the Résidence Quai de la Gare in Paris, Îlot B2 Confluence in Lyon or the Paris-Saclay campus.

The building is an excellent example of the possibility for transforming cityscapes. Historic cities merge with vibrant urban environments, with modern building codes setting the goals of sustainability and vibrancy of cities well into the future. Paris is a city made to last, and Lumon’s glazing supports that heritage.

This trend has been steadily increasing due to urbanization, driven by factors such as economic opportunities, better infrastructure, and access to services in urban centers. Some countries, particularly in Western and Northern Europe, have even higher urbanization rates, with urban populations exceeding 80-85%. As urbanization surges, urban agriculture is reshaping city landscapes and changing how we think about sustainability, food production, and green spaces.
