German visitors were impressed by Lumon’s impact on Finnish urban construction

Close collaboration continues as Lumon’s German operations continue to grow

Lumon first started its B2B sales operations in Germany in the mid 90’s, officially establishing a sister organization Lumon Deutschland GmbH in 2004. Lumon has continued to make its mark in the German cityscapes, with prominent growth especially in recent years. This growth is for example marked by the soon-completion of one of Lumon’s most significant projects in Germany, Roots, which will serve as a landmark in the city of Hamburg by the River Elbe.

Recently, B2B sales staff and representatives and Lumon’s installation partners from Germany, P&S Systemmontagen GmbH* and GF Metallbau GmbH paid a visit to Finland. The purpose of the visit was to showcase Finnish operations and the extent of the use of balcony glazing solutions as a building component throughout Finland. The visitors paid a visit to Lumon’s production plant in Kouvola, as well as installation sites in the Capital Region.

“We were impressed by the high degree of automation in Lumon’s production,” explains Lars Kappius, Project Manager at Lumon Deutschland. “I was impressed by the efficient production in the factory and the cleanliness and orderliness of the premises,” adds Ralf Schulze, Managing Director of our installation partner P&S Systemmontagen GmbH

Solutions Manager Juhani Hovi continues: “It is great that Lumon has partners in Germany who can provide the know-how in combining Lumon products with local construction solutions.”

During the visit to the Capital Region of Helsinki, the group visited ongoing and finished installation sites.

“It was great to experience the installations happening in real-time on site. What really stood out to me was the safety on site and the operation without scaffolding (installation can be done safely from the balcony),” Kappius comments. “I was convinced of Lumon’s impact on Finnish urban construction. It very much confirmed my confidence in the potential to accelerate the ‘Lumonisation’ of German construction. Together with Lumon, we have excellent opportunities to develop our business together in Germany,” Schulze continues.

Andreas Karst, Country Manager of Lumon Deutschland concludes: “The guests were very impressed by the visit.”
