    The SNA Symposium is a cultural activity that has emerged to generate a dialogue and a contrast between the architecture of Finland and Andalusia. The aim of this meeting is to create an event where architects from both territories share their work and experience, under a specific theme, in an academic atmosphere. The team of chairmen for SNA is composed by the architects Veli-Matti Sanaksenaho, Mikko Summanen (Finland) and Borja Sallago (Spain).

  • Media release: Lumon to incorporate glazing at Solhouse

    Lumon, the world’s leading manufacturer of frameless balcony glazing solutions, has partnered with Vancouver-based real estate company, Bosa Properties, to deliver balcony facades to a 50-storey residential tower – Solhouse 6035 – in the Greater Vancouver Area, Canada. With Lumon’s glazing and glass railing technology to be implemented on over 400 balconies, the project will be the tallest building globally to include Lumon’s retractable glass-panel technology. Construction is set to begin in 2024 and complete in 2028.

  • Lumon customers are using their glazed spaces more than expected for dining and entertaining  

    Lumon’s recent customer study reveals a notable trend: nearly 25-29% of respondents are using their outdoor spaces more than expected with the addition of glazing. While the concept of balcony glazing has become familiar in especially Nordic countries, the survey shows that the benefit of balcony glazing is often not fully realized until it becomes a natural part of everyday life. The survey, conducted across five countries -Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain, and Canada- highlights dining and entertaining as one of the top ways of using the outdoor space. However, the possible uses of the space extend far beyond.

  • German visitors were impressed by Lumon’s impact on Finnish urban construction

    Lumon first started its B2B sales operations in Germany in the mid 90’s, officially establishing a sister organization Lumon Deutschland GmbH in 2004. Lumon has continued to make its mark in the German cityscapes, with prominent growth especially in recent years. This growth is for example marked by the soon-completion of one of Lumon’s most significant projects in Germany, Roots, which will serve as a landmark in the city of Hamburg by the River Elbe.
