[NEWS] Visor launches a groundbreaking blinds collection with unique sustainability features
The Finnish company Suomen Visor Oy has launched a new line of window blinds made from recycled materials, featuring a record-low carbon footprint. The product is one-of-a-kind on the European market and answers the growing demand for high-quality, environmentally friendly sun shading solutions.
Visor unveiled its innovative blinds at the Spring Fair (Kevätmessut), held from March 27–30, 2025, at Messukeskus Helsinki in Finland. The new model is made from recycled PET plastic and recycled aluminum. The EPD-verified product has a carbon footprint 58% lower than Visor’s previous window blind collection, with 84% of the materials used being recycled.

“This new collection responds to the evolving demands of the construction industry. Designed according to circular economy principles, the blinds are durable and also recyclable. There is no equivalent product like this available elsewhere in Europe,” says Markku Pulkkinen, CEO of Visor.
On average, each blind contains the equivalent of approximately 18 half-liter recycled PET plastic bottles. All aluminum components are made from 100% recycled material.
According to a recent customer survey conducted by Visor, customers across Europe are increasingly seeking sustainable and high-quality products.
“The material change does not impact the product’s quality, price, or functionality. We continue to emphasize the individuality, aesthetics, and durable design of our blinds—key elements in home decor and comfort,” Pulkkinen adds.
Visor has long been committed to sustainability. Significant progress has already been made toward achieving the company’s Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission targets. The factory in Kempele will be fully carbon neutral during 2025.
“We are committed to continuing our long-term work as a pioneer in sustainable and circular sun shading solutions. Our goal is to set an example for the entire industry,” says Pulkkinen.
“In addition, our factory offers excellent production capacity and agile operations, ensuring high product availability and fast delivery times—even for larger projects.”
The new blinds are designed and manufactured entirely in Finland and have been awarded the Design from Finland and Key Flag (Avainlippu) marks, along with the ISO9001 quality certification. The new collection will be available in spring 2025 via Visor’s online store, customer service, and authorized retailers.
The new product will be available in all countries where Visor blinds are sold.
