According to the bulletin of renoverin.dk in the Ørsted's Gardens renovation project the façade of the building and the balcony corridors were rethought so that they are not only providing access to the apartments but have also created vertical gardens that enable informal gatherings between the neighbors. Furthermore, the bulletin states that before the renovation Ørsted's Gardens was called having the ugliest façade by the residents themselves, however today, the Frederiksberg's formerly ugliest building can now be called Denmark's best renovation. The project won the Renovation Award 2021 in September and the architectural design of the project was done by Tegnestuen LOKAL Architects.
“Lumon products play a key role in the design of the building. Frameless balcony glazing gives an elegant touch to the renewed façade and provide protection for the corridors behind”, states Martin Hansen, Country Manager of Lumon Denmark. “Before the renovation the building had open passages that lead to the apartments. During the years the corridors were exposed to rain and snow and faced a costly renovation”, Hansen explains.
According to Hansen the residents of Ørsted's Gardens experienced noise nuisance from the heavily trafficked street outside the building. Thanks to Lumon Glazing the noise is now significantly reduced. “Moreover, the balcony glazing gives the residents a protected the passage to the apartments which is still semiprivate”, Hansen concludes.
“The Ørsted's Gardens project was managed by our reseller Alumentdk who did an excellent job in finding the perfect solution and design for the building. Alumentdk has successfully sold and installed Lumon products in Denmark for the past 13 years and our cooperation is strong. I’m very excited to see what projects we get to execute together in the future”, Martin rejoices.
