[PROJECTS] Design project: Home of Finnish author and therapist Tommy Hellsten

Peace and nature by the seaside

Tommy Hellsten, a renowned Finnish writer, therapist, theologian and educator, resides in his unique seaside home in Loviisa. Tommy Hellsten’s home is known as “Wisdom House”, and serves not only as a home but also as a working environment for therapy services, counselling and consulting. One of the home’s main spaces is Lumon’s large glazed terrace, which can be accessed from various points in the home.

“I’ve had this home for just under a year now. I moved in as soon as I could, after the housing fair,” Tommy explains. The home is situated in the premises of Finland’s largest housing fair, one of the unique design displays created for the 2023 edition. Tommy enjoys his home and the closeness of nature.

“Here on the glazed terrace, above all I am able to just be and enjoy. Here, you are close to nature and you can hear the birds, especially in spring. And then – I enjoy drinking my coffee here. Looking at this glazing, it is sturdy and of good quality… I have been satisfied and definitely recommend Lumon,” Tommy concludes.
